Types of Referees

 
There are three types of referee certification that apply to our region.
 
U8 Officials: This certification allows the individual to officiate a U8 Game.
 
  • Min age 10
  • Class time approx 4 hours (consists of modules 2 - 7, see www.aysohelp.org. for module descriptions)
  • You must take the U-8 Official exam
     
    Asst Referee: This certification allows the individual to "run lines/serve as a linesman/asst referee" for our U10 and up games.
  • Min age 12
  • Class time approx 6.25 hours ( consists of modules 2 - 7, 10 - 12 see www.aysohelp.org for module descriptions)
  • You must take the Assistant Referee Exam
     
    Basic Referee or Regional Referee:
  • Min age 12
  • You must be at least two years older than the age group you will officiate.
  • Class time approx 8 hours ( consists of modules 2 -13, see www.aysohelp.org for module descriptions)
  • Pass the Regional Referee exam with a score of 75% or better
