SELECTION OF AYSO REGION 151
TOURNAMENT TEAM PLAYERS

Players must meet these requirements to be eligible for selection to an AYSO Region 151 Tournament Team:

1. Must be registered in AYSO Region 151
2. Must be playing in the current spring season
3. Must participate in at least one-half of the scheduled spring season games
4. Must attend the tryout for their age group

• If a player does not attend the tryout for their age group they cannot be selected to the tournament team unless they were previously scheduled to be away from the local area or if they have a medical reason. In this circumstance a written note from a parent to the tournament team coordinator must be received prior to the first scheduled tryout.




• Every player must be informed of the tryout for their age group and gender. A second tryout may be scheduled by the first team coach for players that were not informed.

The approved first team coach will select a complete first team from players who attend the tryout. They may also select none, or one, or more players from a subsequent tryout held for players who were uninformed of the first tryout or who had provided written notification to the tournament team coordinator that they were unable to attend the first tryout. The notification must be received prior to the first scheduled tryout.

If there are enough approved coaches and enough players attending the tryout, a second team and subsequent teams may be selected for tournament play. The approved second team coach will select a complete second team from the remaining players after the first team has been selected. The teams shall not be balanced. Subsequent teams (3^rd, 4^th, etc.) will be similarly selected in whole and in turn.

SELECTION OF AYSO REGION 151 TOURNAMENT TEAM COACHES

Coaches must meet these requirements to be eligible for selection to coach an AYSO Region 151 Tournament Team:

1. Must be registered as volunteers with AYSO and must be 18 years old.


2. Must coach for the entire year including the most recent fall season, as well as, the current spring season preceding the tournament season


3. Must be certified to the Intermediate Coaching Level through AYSO


4. Must be Safe Haven Certified


5. Must be certified to the Basic referee level (previously region referee level) through AYSO


6. Must submit an application to coach an AYSO Region 151 Tournament Team prior to the AYSO Region 151 Board selection process

Coaches may not coach more than two AYSO Tournament Teams in one summer tournament season.

The AYSO Region 151 Region Commissioner, Coach Administrator, and Tournament Team Coordinator will approve tournament team coaches.

Coaches must attend a meeting directed by the Region 151 Tournament Team Coordinator where they will agree to the Region 151 player selection process and coaching expectations.

If there is a contention among coaches for any specific age group or gender, the Region 151 Board will select the coaches. The Board will first determine qualified coaches and then select a first team coach, second team coach, etc.
