Finding a substitute If you can not work your scheduled game, you are responsible for finding a replacement. You need to call the Referee Call List 1) To find someone to take your game. 2) To find someone to trade games with you. Once you have found a substitute or arranged a trade, please call 476-8647 to leave a message so that the Referee Administrator can make the changes to the schedule. If you have called the entire Referee Call List and still can't find someone to take your place or trade games, please call Tracy Proulx at 476-8647. She will then call the coaches to let them know that there will be no Center Referee at their game. "No Referee Notices" to coaches must be arranged 24 hours before game time to allow coaches time to make alternate arrangements. Having a coach do their coaching job and referee at the same time is very stressful. We strive to fill all games. As our Referee Program grows, it will be possible to do this consistently. In the meantime, coaches are being asked to help fill the Referee Pool when circumstances beyond our control leave them without a Center Referee. Giving them time to find a Center Referee on their own, makes the situation better for everyone. Please make your games a priority. For some of you it is your first "job." Not showing up to a game that you are scheduled for is not acceptable. Your referee schedule is posted on the AYSO Region 151 website (www.ayso151.org) as of 9.7.05. If you lose your schedule, please look on the website for your game times and field assignments. What if? What if I get sick? You are responsible for calling the Referee Call List to find a replacement. Follow the steps listed above. What if new family plans conflict with my field assignments? You are responsible for calling the Referee Call List to find a replacement. Follow the steps listed above.
