AYSO REGION 151 COACH ADMINISTRATOR MISSION STATEMENT
Travis Braden, Regional coach Administrator
627-4666 (home)
629-5859 (work)
travis_braden@mgoblue.com

The goal of AYSO Region 151 Coach Administrator is to provide practical as well as tactical support to all coaches, thus assisting them and their players in reaching their highest potential. Ways to achieve this include-

  1. Providing, through volunteer recruitment and effective training, AYSO certified individuals capable of meeting all the region’s training needs.

  2. Providing training sessions for all levels of coaching, at dates and times that are convenient to the majority of coaches.

  3. Establishing a regionwide database that coaches may use to communicate with each other.

  4. Maintaining a current web site that provides up to date information to coaches.

  5. Maintaining regular correspondence with coaches through the use of newsletters, mailings, etc.

  6. Organizing tryouts for summer tournament teams and providing assistance to coaches and players to ensure success at this level.

  7. Providing one on one mentoring to individual coaches or groups of coaches.

  8. Ensuring that the Regional Coach Administrator remains up to date in all aspects of training, tactical trends, game trends, etc.

HOW TO ACHIEVE THE ABOVE

  1. Identify no later than end of Spring 2005 season no less than 5 individuals willing to become coach trainers. I’ll include myself in this group, but we need as many as possible to cover for each other. My goal is to meet the region’s training needs at the region level and not rely on area and section.

  2. My ultimate goal is monthly trainings for all levels. In the meantime my goal is to offer trainings in March, May, and August. If training at the region level is not possible I’ll ensure proper communication and assistance in order for coaches to attend trainings in other regions.

  3. Request e:mail addresses from coaches and establish a group which all coaches can use to communicate with each other and share information.

  4. Beginning March 21, 2005 I will post on the web page each Monday a brief article/newsletter for coaches. These articles/newsletters will cover soccer skills, tactics, conditioning, etc. I’ll also include general coach information as well as a “coach’s spotlight”. I will ensure all information on the web page is up to date, and I will ensure the calendar reflects all training opportunities available to coaches.

  5. I will maintain a current e:mail as well as physical address database of all coaches. I will ensure all pertinent information is made available to the coaches in a timely manner.

  6. Beginning in March 2005 I (with help) will organize the summer tournament teams tryout process. I’ll meet with all interested coaches and map out the application process, tryout process, and schedule. I’ll ensure all summer tournament coaches meet all AYSO and region eligibility requirements.

  7. I’ll make myself available to anyone who wants to listen to me talk about soccer. In the future I hope to establish monthly coach meetings and invite guest speakers to these meetings. I’ll be as accessible as I can.

  8. I’ll make sure I’m properly trained in all that I’ll be doing. I won’t ask anything of anyone that I won’t do myself. I’ll act as the region’s liaison with Area, Section, and National. I’ll remain up to date on the game.
